Fallen Lucky
Gosh! Maybe I'd better leave...
The page you are about to read likely contains information that you probably haven't seen for yourself. Be sure to free yourself from spoilers!

Archery is one of the 7 sports that Lucky can compete in. It is located in the North-west Docks where you compete against Yoichi, the champion of archery.

The aim of the game is to outscore Yoichi by shooting enough targets and fans. You can also shoot many items at once. The game may be somewhat inspired by shooter games.

As of 24/08/2021, the game contains two maps, with the second introducing more mechanics.

Gameplay[]

Hit targets to outscore the champion before time runs out

To win, Lucky should try to shoot as many different targets wading in a river in a minute (or 99 seconds in the second map). The number of dangos awarded are calculated by comparing the score with Yoichi, who shoots targets in the same area. Pressing space will release an arrow.

Lucky shoots targets with green arrows, and Yoichi shoots with red ones.

Maps[]

There are two maps to be found to play the minigame. The first can be seen when entering the North-west Docks. The second is to be found further northwest.

Items[]

Nervous
H-how do you know my name?
The name of the subject(s) of this section is purely conjectural. However, it will be used until an official name is released.

Fan[]

ArcheryFan

A fan comes out of the water every so often. Yoichi is famous for shooting these little targets. Hitting one will give the player 50 points, and the arrow will continue flying until either it is missed, or it hits something else.

Target[]

Target

Targets behave like fans, with an exception being that they can stop an arrow. They give 100 points when disturbed, and spawn in the edges of the screen. They also usually spawn on the top of the screen.

Explosive[]

Explosive

Explosives do not release any points when hit on their own, but it will destroy any target in proximity to it, including fans and targets. Explosives are good ways to achieve high combos. They spawn the exact same way as targets.

Yoichi's AI seems to aim at explosive targets regardless of any targets actually floating beside. You can use this advantage to distract Yoichi. Do not shoot at explosives if they are not near enough targets.

Shield[]

Shield

Shields are the specialty of the second map. They easily block Lucky's arrows, but Yoichi's arrows can penetrate them and get 50 points.

Combos[]

The player can score combos by destroying multiple targets at once. The usual formula for the points awarded by hitting an item is as follows:

Normal points awarded × (Number of items hit previously + 1)

Trivia[]

The fan with a big star in it

  • There appears to be some scrapped target types. Some include an extra big fan with a star in it that time would freeze and lots of target would pop up, a boat with a arrow on it, and the latter with a fire arrow instead.
    • Presumably the boat with the (fire) arrows gave the player more arrows, as there are also scrapped assets of a fire arrow.

The boat with a fire arrow

  • As you finish the game, the intensity of the competition becomes visually bigger. The more points you score, the aura around your icon at the top will become brighter. Additionally, Yoichi's eyes become bright.
    • The time to retake an arrow also gradually becomes lesser.
  • In the second map, Yoichi's AI is evidently stronger. This is because Yoichi does not take rests as in the previous map.
