Fukuro is one of the legendary champions of Doodle Champion Island Games. He is the champion of Climbing in Champion Island. He usually stays and perches at the peaks of Northern Mountains.

Profile

Appearance

Fukuro is (like Cikap-Kamuy, the inspiration) is a giant mythical Blakiston's fish-owl, mainly with pale blue and white plumage. His abdomen has a traditional Ainu pattern colored in indigo. Fukuro has orange eyes and large white hair (eyebrows and beard). He wears a short-sleeved blue and light blue vest. He has yellow claws, beak and inner-ears as well as black on his body.

Fukuro's feet are huge claws, while he uses his wings to hold giant ladles, which he uses during the climbing minigame to deflect Lucky from reaching the top of the mountains. The ladle to his right is silver, while the ladle to his left is gold.

Personality

Fukuro's personality is mostly an enigma throughout the game. He mostly acts like "an overseeing owl", looking at the distance. His usual expression displays an aggressive attitude. Fukuro is also impossible to interact with from the overworld as he remains atop either the climbing mountain or the Climbing Dojo. This is because he is too large to enter buildings.

Trivia

• Fukuro is based on the Ainu mythological divinity, Cikap-Kamuy.
  • Furthermore, Fukuro means "owl" (梟 ふくろう) in Japanese.
• Fukuro only returns to the Climbing Dojo once someone else reaches to the top of the mountain.
  • He is too large to enter the Dojo. When Lucky becomes the champion, Fukuro can be seen on top of the Dojo.
• Fukuro is the only character in the entire game that does not talk.
• With his gold ladle, Fukuro releases mountain deers and with his silver one, Fukuro releases fishes (as seen in the Climbing cutscene). This is a reference to the Ainu folktale "Kanepisakku sirokanepisakku".
• He can turn his head infinitely.
